I’d swear I’ve reviewed this cigar before, but apparently I’ve only smoked a few of them. I tend to like a cigar that hails more or less from Ecuador, if my tastes in anything ACC Cigars. Has. Proven. The Camacho Ecuador has an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, Brazilian binder and long fillers from the DR. The cigar has won an impressive 91 points from CA also.
Starts off woodsy and with plenty of earth and muted black pepper. The pre-ight draw has a lot more fruity notes than expected.
The flavors melts into a sweet, earthy core. A relight – because I had let it go out produces hints of wood and black pepper but the earthy core remains firm. There is a subtle sweetness in this cigar, probably due to the Ecuadorian wrapper.
The burn line is razor sharp almost. Good, even draw producing a decent amount of grayish smoke. This really was an exceptional smoke for a great price both in the shops and online. Oh, and this is ‘new’ stock at Got Cigars? in Decatur.
I picked this up at Got Cigars? in downtown Decatur a few weeks back and got to try it. The pre-light has heavy raisin and mulled wine tastes. Dark wrapper has no noticeable flaws. Speckled slightly, giving hope of spice.
6×60 and felt so right in my fingers!
The Cigar starts off easily with hints of red pepper and spice along with slight oak flavors.
Then it picks up as the smoke burns evenly, with hints of cocoa and bourbon barrel flavors.
The burn line corrected after a few minutes and the flavors became more like baking spices.
Coffee notes develop along with chocolate sweetness and light earth. With a medium to full bodied finish that lingers, this is a definite keeper in the humidor.

I’ve been waxing poetic lately about the local finds here in Atlanta/Decatur and this bourbon is no exception. Still with the age statement on it, indicating they haven’t run out of good juice yet, Eagle Rare’s 10 year DPS offering offers the bourbon connoisseur a lighter bodied, yet fully flavored bourbon in the same bottle.
It doesn’t require a cube like the DPS edition of 1792 did, as the alcohol has a perfect balance between mellow and spice to pair with any cigar you want to throw at it.
Yes, I mean any. Be it something as luxurious as Don Cervantes or a heavy pepper bomb like anything the magnificent Don Pepin Garcia makes, this bourbon will pair nicely with it.
At the start of the year, I’m going to stock up on different liquors so we can play a new game. Cocktail hour!
